Case Study — Brand Identity
The Shift
Birthday cakes sold through word-of-mouth in the local community. Great product. No visual identity to match it.
A brand considered for weddings, corporate gifting, and celebration events — because the visual presence finally matched the quality of the work.
The Brief
Granday Treats had everything a great brand needs except the brand itself. The product was exceptional — cakes and pastries made with real care, for the real moments that matter. But nothing about the visual presentation communicated that to anyone who didn't already know them.
The brief was to build a complete brand identity from zero. Not just a logo — a visual language with enough warmth to feel personal and enough polish to earn a place at a wedding table or a boardroom gifting moment.
The Visual Identity
The palette came from the product itself. Deep chocolate browns that feel like craft and substance. Gold that catches the light the way a beautifully iced cake does. Cream that carries warmth without being loud. Every colour earns its place by feeling inevitable — like it couldn't have been anything else.

Design Thinking
Every visual identity is the sum of a few big calls made early. These were the ones that shaped everything else for Granday Treats.
The temptation with a premium brief is to strip everything back to cold white space. But Granday's product is warm — it's made for celebration, for family, for the moments people remember. The identity had to carry that feeling. We leaned into richness, not reduction.
Gold in a brand either shouts or whispers. We chose whisper. It appears at the moments that matter — in the logo, in the packaging detail, in the accent elements — never as a field, always as a finish. The restraint is what makes it feel earned.
The brief wasn't to design for where the brand was — neighbourhood orders and birthday cakes. It was to design for where it was going: weddings, corporate gifting, celebration events. Every decision was made with that destination in mind.
The Outcome
The visual identity didn't change what Granday makes. It changed who notices — and who feels comfortable enough to enquire. That's what a brand does.
After the rebrand, Granday Treats started appearing in conversations for weddings and celebration events — spaces they'd been invisible in before, simply because the brand hadn't communicated they belonged there.
Companies choosing gifts for clients need a brand that looks the part. The new identity made Granday Treats a credible option for corporate gifting — a category that barely existed for them before the visual overhaul.
Within their existing community, the response was immediate. Customers who already loved the product now had a brand to point at and share. Word-of-mouth got sharper, more specific, more referrable.
They loved what they saw — a brand that finally looked as good as the work already was.
